Registration

2008-09 Season

All registration materials are available through our website. Just follow the "Steps" listed on the left under Registration. You can begin with Step 1: USA Hockey Registration today!

Tryout dates will be finalized in the near future.

Registration Letter

Your registration packet is now available and includes the following forms:

·Registration Form or Girl’s Registration Form (Form 1 of 3)

·Participation Obligation Agreement (Form 2 of 3)

·(USA Hockey Confirmation Barcode is Form 3 of 3)

Please fill out all forms completely!  Bring all forms along with your payment to one of the open registration nights - either Thursday, Aug 21 or Tuesday, August 26 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm or mail all 3 forms (USA Hockey Confirmation Barcode is Form 3 of 3) to the address listed below.  Open registration nights are held to answer your questions and allow you time to sign up for your credits.  If you do not have questions or do not want to sign up for credits either of these two nights, please feel free to mail your forms and checks (registration fees and credit deposit).  Please mail to:  GBAYHA Registrar, P.O. Box 28227, Green Bay WI 54324-0227.  Please include your skater’s name and level on the memo line.  In order to get the reduced rate, all fees must be paid by Saturday, August 31st, 2008 (post-mark date if mailing).  Be sure to include your e-mail address so that we may contact you with questions.

All players need to register on-line with USA Hockey and WAHA (Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association via www.usahockey.com) before open registration.  Please see separate USA Hockey On-Line Registration notice.  You will be asked to print a “confirmation page.”  Please bring the confirmation page with you to open registration (or mail with other forms) as we will need to scan the barcode from the form.  This is Form (3 of 3) is needed for registration.  For those without internet access and/or a credit card, please ask a teammate or friend to process the registration for you.  The $40 fee covers your USA Hockey and WAHA player registration fees only, not your GBAYHA fees.  There is no charge from USA Hockey or WAHA for skaters age 6 and under (those born in 2001 and after); you should still register and bring the confirmation page along.

If you have outstanding credit obligations or owe other fees/fines from the 2007-2008 season, or if the 2008-2009 registration fee is not paid in full by the time of try-outs, your skater will not be allowed to try out until all amounts are paid.

GBAYHA will NOT be offering Boys High School teams since the majority of our high school aged skaters will have sanctioned hockey at their respective high schools.  We do expect to have a Girls U19 high school team and hopefully a WIAA Girls team for the 2009-2010 season (but not this upcoming season).

Our new Jerseys were a big hit last year!  All teams from Bantams to Mite Travel A/B and girls U10 to U19 will have jerseys sporting our Bobcat logo.  We spent about $30,000 on these jerseys so please take good care of them!  Like last year, your fees this year include a $20 jersey fee in order to prepare for the next round of jerseys (5-6 years from now).

There will be Travel and Recreational Levels for Squirts, Bantams and PeeWees.  Fees for rec hockey are slightly less than travel hockey.  Rec teams (and Mite A/B Travel) will share two hours of practice per week.  Travel teams other than Mite A/B will share two and a half hours of practice per week.  Any skater can choose to play rec hockey over A/B travel – they do not have to tryout at the A/B level if they choose to play rec hockey.  Tryouts for A/B travel teams will be held first.  You must register for A/B travel in order to tryout at that level.   Any skater not making the A or B team will then tryout with the rec teams which will be split based on a draft.  Skaters that tryout for A/B travel and do not make either the A or B team will be issued a refund of the difference, less a $20 tryout fee.

Refund Policy.  There will be NO refunds issued after the WAHA team registration deadline of December 31, 2008.  Refund requests should be directed to the Registrar (via e-mail or phone call to address/number below).  Schedule of refunds is:

Registrar notified:

Right after tryouts – All but $100 will be refunded  (all but $50 at U10 level)

By October 31st – ¾ of fee paid will be refunded

By November 30th – ½ of fee paid will be refunded

By December 31st – ¼ of fee paid will be refunded

For HIP and Mighty Mites, the rink has 30 sets of equipment for rent at $30.00 on a first come first served basis.  Call Don Chilson at 403-2000.  Equipment rental includes helmet, shin pads, elbow pads.  Additional equipment needed includes skates, gloves and breezers (pants).

Senior/out of area jersey deposit - Please note that all seniors (girls) and any skater not from the Green Bay area must pay a $200.00 jersey deposit.   Once the jerseys are returned, the deposit will be refunded.  You should write a separate check for the jersey deposit that will be held until the jerseys are returned.

Credit deposit - All skaters will need to pay $100.00 per credit as a deposit ($400/skater with the exception of HIP and Mighty Mites as they have different credit obligations).  This should be a separate check made payable to GBAYHA which will be held (not cashed) until February 28, 2009.  Checks should be dated February 28, 2009.  Please indicate skater’s name and level on the memo line of the check.  If you have not fulfilled your obligations by February 28, 2009, your check will be cashed and you will receive a refund for any credits that were

worked.  For those with blended families, please consider presenting two separate checks so that refunds or charges are more easily tracked.  Again, please put skater’s name and level on memo line.

TWO CREDIT stipulations for 2008-2009 – 1) Checks for those who have worked all credits will not be returned until after February 28, 2009.  They will be returned via team managers.  2) IF YOU DO NOT SHOW UP TO WORK YOUR SCHEDULED CONCESSION STAND SHIFT, the $100 penalty will come out of your credit check (a refund will be issued for credits actually worked).  There will be no (or very limited) opportunities to make up any credits scheduled and not worked.

Your skater will not be rostered on a team with WAHA until all fees are paid and forms are completed and returned to the registrar.  Tryout information should be available at both registration dates.

Thank you,

Green Bay Area Youth Hockey Board of Directors and

Jenny Meulemans, Registrar
